ReScriptor
An app that rewrites text in a different tone, format, length or language through the OpenAI API, with history and usage stats. Built during an internship.

ReScriptor takes a hastily written text and rewrites it the way it needs to sound: a more professional email, a more relaxed post or a translated message. I built it in 2023, during an internship, before this was a feature in every editor.
How it rewrites
- Tone comes from twelve options, from friendly and professional to authoritative, urgent and persuasive, or funny
- Format: email, blog post, social media post or presentation
- Length: short, medium or long
- Language: English or Romanian
Account and history
- Every request and its answer stay in the history, so you can go back to a good version
- An activity chart shows how much you have used the app
- Passwords are generated and validated right at sign-up, and the profile is editable
Backend
- The API is built with Feathers.js, with MongoDB for users and history
- Users, history and rewriting are separate services, each with its own authentication hooks
- The sign-in flows have end-to-end tests in Puppeteer
What I learned: Vue 2 and Vuetify 2 from scratch, and how a frontend connects to a real API with authentication.
Tech stack: Vue 2, Vuetify 2, Feathers.js, MongoDB, OpenAI API, Puppeteer.
